Chint Solar and NewDev have completed the development and construction of Solar park Hechthausen in Lower Saxony, Germany. The project was recently connected to the grid and thereby officially commissioned.
Solar park Hechthausen is located in the municipality of Hechthausen in Landkreis Cuxhaven, Lower Saxony. The more than 16,000 solar panels have an installed capacity of 10 MWp and can provide around 3,500 households with renewable energy. The project is located next to a railroad line and has successfully tendered for EEG-remuneration.
The project was developed and realized by NewDev and Chint Solar. For Chint Solar, the commissioning marks a special milestone: it is the first completed solar park in Germany for the Hamburg-headquartered project developer. In Q4 in 2024 it expects to connect another 80 MW project to the grid.
On 31 August, the solar park will be festively opened. Interested local residents can register here.
Maike Thron, Head of Cooperations and M&A at Chint Solar in Germany: “The commissioning of Solar park Hechthausen is a landmark achievement in our ongoing efforts to promote renewable energy. This project marks the completion of Chint Solar’s first solar park in Germany and supports the national energy transition goals. I am proud that we cooperated with NewDev to bring this project to a successful conclusion.”
Dr. Mark-Oliver Otto and Tanja Mado, Managing Directors and Owners of NewDev: “We are delighted that Solar park Hechthausen has now actually been realized after one year of hard work and preparation. We would like to thank all local authorities, project partners and consultants for their cooperation and contribution to the realization of the project.”
