Be part of the energy transition: Are you eager to leverage your legal expertise to drive the energy transition forward? At Chint Solar, we are seeking a dedicated Corporate Counsel to join our German legal team, comprising a seasoned corporate counsel and a business lawyer (Wirtschaftsjurist) to work at our Hamburg office. Reporting directly to the General Counsel Europe, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and realisation of our solar projects.

Your impact: You will provide comprehensive legal support across our business operations, with a particular focus on project development, including regulatory matters. Your expertise will also extend to assisting our investment, procurement and project management teams, all within a dynamic environment aimed at expanding our project pipeline. This includes innovative ventures into battery energy storage systems and agrivoltaics solar projects.

With over 10 GWp of completed projects worldwide, our significant track record positions us as a key player in the solar industry.

Since 2016, our dedicated European team has been instrumental in driving the energy transition across Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, the UK, and Hungary. We’re committed to a sustainable future, working alongside stakeholders to make green energy everywhere available. In Europe, we have developed more than 25 operational ground-mounted PV projects and have a large number of projects in development.

Who you are:

  • Proactive, hands-on and detail-oriented
  • Skilled in identifying legal risks and weighting them with business objectives
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • A fully qualified German lawyer completed 1st and 2nd state exam with academic credentials with a minimum of 6.5 points in both state exams
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-exam experience (not including the Referendariat period) in private practice at a mid-size to large law firm or at a renewable energy law boutique firm; and/or experience as an in-house lawyer
  • Work experience within the renewable energy sector
  • Proficient in both German and English, with exceptional writing and verbal skills

Your role:

  • Offering legal support throughout our project lifecycle, from development to operation
  • Structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on various agreements (such share purchase and sale agreements, shareholders agreements, joint development agreements, EPC and O&M agreements, supply agreements)
  • Advising on permitting, planning, and environmental law matters
  • Coordinating with external law firms and overseeing contract management and internal legal processes
