Chint Solar has officially commissioned the Ínsua solar park in Portugal for the Danish Independent Power producer Nordic Solar. The 80 hectare, 48.5 MWp solar park provides renewable energy to approximately 26,000 households.
The solar park is located near Pias, Municipality of Serpa, in the Alentejo region. It is Chint Solar’s first PV project development in Portugal and will operate for an estimated duration of at least 30 years.
Smart technology and integration into the landscape
The solar park uses panels produced by Chint Solar’s sister company Astronergy. The panels are installed on a single-axis tracker system. This smart system tracks the position of the sun, allowing more electricity to be produced in a more efficient manner. As a result, the installation can supply renewable energy to approximately 35,000 households annually.
It is to be emphasized that the solar park was developed considering all the ground and environmental limitations, its morphology and existing water resources, complying with all the requisites and good practices.
